I am so excited about the month of December approaching! Since I was a child, the holidays have always been my favorite time of year. The decorations, the twinkle lights, the special time with family…this season brings so much joy. As an avid entertainer, who loves to host, things certainly look different this year, but I’m looking forward to many home celebrations that will bring joy.
I love how these sweet and savory holiday recipes look so festive in front of my tree. I pulled together all the ingredients at Target, then we turned on the Christmas music and I got the kids involved in helping me prepare everything. It is always more fun for everyone when we do things together!
We set up the bar cart so we could have a family game night in front of the fire. I keep various sized white cake plates and trays in my buffet table so I can easily pull them out and use for small treats like these. I added a garland swag to my card and my favorite holiday napkins are we are ready for a fun evening at home.
OREO Fudge Covered Cookie Holiday Pops
These OREO Fudge Covered Cookie Holiday Pops are so festive! It took just a few minutes to add the popsicle sticks to the back. After using melted candy to make some festive designs, we added sprinkles and popped them back in the freezer to set. In just a few minutes they were ready to go!
Directions:
- Use melted semi-sweet chocolate to attach 1 wooden pop stick to back of each fudge covered cookie.
- Place, top sides down, in single layer on parchment-covered baking sheet.
- Repeat with melted white chocolate and white fudge covered cookies and additional pop sticks.
- Refrigerate 10 min. or until chocolate is firm.
- Turn cookies over
- Decorate tops of cookies with melted candy coating wafers and sprinkles.
- Refrigerate 10 min. or until candy coating is firm.
Tips:
Set up a fun holiday pop making bar by placing your sprinkles in bowls. Turn on your Christmas music and get your family involved.
Melt your white and semi-sweet chocolate to 90 degrees. Be careful not to go over as your chocolate can burn. Once the chocolate pieces begin to melt, you can stir to help the rest of the chocolate melt.
Melt your red and green candy until it is smooth. Place in a piping bag and cut a small hole at the tip. This will allow you to easily make different designs and the piping bag can be reheated in small increments as needed.
As you can see, we decorated the sides, the tops, and we made fun wreaths and trees on our holiday pops.
For Gift-Giving, place decorated cookie pops in clear food-safe plastic bags, then tie closed with holiday ribbon. These make great hostess gifts, or gifts for your favorite teachers or coaches.
