Spring is finally upon us and although we still have some cooler temperatures, the birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and the sun has been out! I love everything about springtime. Springtime for my family means enjoying meals outdoors, playing at the park, outdoor sports, watching the kids the outside, and refreshing our garden and our home. It also represents newness and growth, and it’s a great time to declutter and organize, and deep clean the house.
I’m sure you love a clean home just as much as I do! There’s nothing like waking to a tidy home, a clean kitchen, and a sparkling bathroom. Am I right? Especially when some areas might have been overlooked during the holidays or wintertime. Sometimes a project like spring cleaning can seem so big that’s it’s overwhelming. I’m sharing my spring cleaning tips along with a checklist to help keep me, and you, on task! This checklist should help you tackle the big and small projects in each room, with the end goal of having a sparkling clean home.
GET ORGANIZED
Before I dive into deep cleaning the house, I make sure I have all the supplies. Do I have enough paper towels, sponges, and cloths? Do I have all the cleaning supplies I need, like the new Clorox Scentiva foam cleaner? Is my vacuum cleaned out and ready? Do I have my carpet cleaner on hand? Gather all the supplies you need and run to the store to grab anything you don’t have.
SET ASIDE A WEEKEND
It’s always harder to tackle a project when there are other obligations on the schedule. If you can set aside a full Saturday and part of Sunday, you can likely get through your entire checklist. If you can’t set aside two days, then try to divide up the list and tackle your projects within a few hours each over the course of a week. Trying to focus on getting it all done in a specific amount of time will help you stay the course!
PREP THE HOUSE BEFOREHAND
Before I begin cleaning, I pick up any toys or other items out of place. I load the dishwasher or clean any used dishes and put them away. I make sure the laundry room is ready to be inundated with linens, etc. I put away things like backpacks and shoes, and throw away the junk mail. It will save your time dedicated to deep cleaning if you can start with a house that has been fully picked up.
GATHER REINFORCEMENTS
Who says you have to clean alone? And who says cleaning can’t be fun? My mother-in-law has been known to help with big projects like spring cleaning. If you have a family member or friend who lives nearby, offer to swap and you can both help each other out and have fun in the process! I like to recruit my oldest kids to help with the cleaning and organizing of their rooms. My toddler and baby girl tend to make things messier, so a playdate with Grandparents or a trusted sitter are often my go-to for keeping the younger kids occupied. The older my kids get, I like to assign them simple cleaning tasks, and a fun reward like cupcakes and lemonade helps keep them going! Aren’t they the cutest little helpers? There may have been a cupcake smeared in someone’s face…I’m glad it was time for spring cleaning!

GET TO WORK
When you’ve done all of the above, it’s time to get to work and there’s no looking back! I like to tackle each room one at a time. I move my supplies like my Clorox Scentiva from room to room as I go. I find if I focus on one area at a time, I can be more productive and work faster. I’m all about working smarter, not harder, and I couldn’t share about spring cleaning tips without mentioning my newest tools for tackling my kitchen and bathrooms.
I’ve been a consumer of Clorox products since I’ve been a homeowner, so I was excited to learn about the new line, Clorox® Scentiva™ Pacific Breeze and Coconut, which literally smells like you’re sitting on an island. These products make your home beautiful, getting rid of germs, soap scum, viruses and bacteria, and leaving it sparkling from top to bottom. As a mom of five, I rely on Clorox to kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria in my home, and now it also leaves my home smelling like paradise! It’s a parenting win!

These spring tips are really very helpful in cleaning, but from my view the germs arise from washrooms so washrooms must be clean properly in every week each and every thing of bathrooms should be clean in a proper manner.
That’s a great point, thank you!
