Magical Disney World Trip Reveal Breakfast

There’s just something magical about getting those magic bands in the mail…especially when it’s your first trip and it’s a complete surprise for your kids. I had been dreaming about this trip for years, so I knew I had to plan a very special way to tell the kids. I had so much fun planning this magical Disney World trip reveal. We were scheduled to leave on the morning of my oldest son’s 6th birthday, and my other children were age four, almost three, and one. I’m so excited to share a series of Disney posts to fully cover our favorite aspects of the trip, clothing, and all the extra magic I planned. I knew Disney was going to be magical, but for me, the extra magic I worked hard to plan made the trip all the more special….starting with our pancake breakfast reveal!

For every birthday in our family, we start the day with birthday pancakes, so for my son’s 6th birthday, I was so excited to find a mickey mouse waffle maker! I had also found a mickey mouse cake ball maker that makes muffins. I made a lot of food that morning that could double as heavy snacks on the airplane because we weren’t going to have time to stop for lunch in between our connecting flights. Did you know that you can bring food through security and on the plane as long as it is in a wrapping or sealed bag? Score!!! Here was our menu:

Disney World Trip Reveal – Favorite Details:

-My favorite detail of this Reveal was that we had a very special person call who sounded just like the real Mickey Mouse. I saved his number in our phone as Mickey Mouse, so if you look closely at the picture below of my two boys smiling you can see that they are talking to Mickey Mouse. He called to wish my son Happy Birthday, and to tell our kids that they were going to Disney World! It was such a special moment and totally worth coordinating! See the Video at the end of this post!
-The backdrop of red and white striped wrapping paper, with Mickey Mouse Icon Shapes, cut from my Silhouette Cameo, and the Happy Birthday in the Walt Disney Font cut from my Silhouette. I made the Mickey Mouse Icon tissue decoration with black and yellow tissue paper. I did all of these projects during nap time or after they went to bed so it could be a surprise!
– The 3 tier cupcake holder my husband made! He bought the wood supplies from our local hardware store and painted the tiers red, black and yellow. I made the mickey mouse topper out of styrofoam, toothpicks, and black spray paint.
-The table decoration included a red tablecloth, yellow paper plates, red polka dot napkins, and the black mickey mouse icon plates (that have sadly been discontinued). I couldn’t find a polka dot yellow tablecloth, so I used a yellow paper tablecloth from the dollar store and adding round labels to it!!
-I found the CUTEST mickey mouse ceramic mugs. For the kids, I found Mickey and Minnie tumblers that worked great to take on our trip as well.
-The red and black Mickey and Minnie serving bowls are so cute and versatile!
-Their red and white stripped mickey mouse pajamas that I had made.
-Our matching Mickey and Minnie mouse ears.
-As part of the decoration, I laid out their personalized bags, and I made tubs for each of them that included lots of happy’s for the trip, mickey mouse water bottles, a mickey mouse lovey, their autograph books and shoes I made them, etc. The next post up in this series will be covering all those details!
-I also laid out their clothes for the day to build on the excitements and so we’d have them readily available when it was time to get ready to leave for the airport. More details on the clothes and shoes can be found in my Disney World Outfits post!

Did you see the look on their little faces as Mickey Mouse tells them we are going to Disney World?? I’ll never forget that moment. This Disney World Trip Reveal took some prepping the night before our trip, but I had many details ready beforehand (naptime is my friend!), and the smiles on their faces and the excitement that came as a result, made it all worth it.
