Nutcracker Birthday Party Ideas

Today we’re getting in the time machine and I am sharing these Nutcracker birthday party ideas from my daughter’s 1st birthday party! With her December birthday, I was so excited to plan a Nutcracker Land of the Sweets Party, and the end result was a magical, elegant birthday party fit for a princess!

Nutcracker Birthday Party Ideas

For the backdrop we used lots of pink (obviously! LOL) tulle. I cut snowflake frames with my Silhouette to display photos from her first year. In addition, we also created a glittery birthday banner with her name.  I also used sparkly, glitter trees, pink nutcrackers and pink and gold ornaments. These accented the sweets bar which was the centerpiece. 

I made a beautiful tiered cake in shades of pink ruffles with gold glitter dust. Lots of Fostoria crystal serving pieces accent the table and provide extra sparkle.

Nutcracker Birthday Party Menu Ideas

It was such fun to  plan and create these Nutcracker themed treats. For my menu I offered:

• Ornament Cake Balls- basically cake pops without the stick. Super fun to decorate.
• Flower Waltz Cupcakes
• White Chocolate Mice- super cute and sweet!
• Gum Drops
• Toy Soldier, Crown, Candy, and Snow Flake Cookies- delicious sugar cookies, beautifully decorated. 
• Gingerbread and Candy Cane Suckers- made with candy melts these were super easy and cute.
• White Chocolate Peppermint Mousse- tucked these into Fostoria custard dishes for extra glitz!
• Macaroons- in shades of pink and cream, naturally.
• Hot Chocolate Bar- Our bar included candy canes , white and dark chocolate chips. Perfect for winter birthdays!

Favorite Party Details

The small details are often my favorite. For the invitation, we photographed Juliana with a ballerina and it was so much fun! We made snowflake wands for party favors with my Silhouette Cameo machine. I hung paper snowflakes from the chandelier, and her baby book was displayed for guests to sign. Juliana wore a perfect little dress that reminded me of a Clara dress, and little pink ballet shoes in infant size.
