Spring Flower Arrangement

My arrangement features pink, yellow, and orange roses, yellow snapdragons, pink Gerber daisies and hypericum berries. We added in some eucalyptus and ivy to give the arrangement some green color and texture. I think the combination of the colors scream Spring and walking by the dining room certainly brightens my day. Last year I went with an all pink palette with this beautiful flower garland centerpiece.

Tips & Tricks for Flower Arranging

  1. Before setting out to gather flowers, consider the overall design scheme. I love to focus on a color palette or a theme and let those elements carry over into my place settings or decor accessories to provide a cohesive look in my space.
  2. When choosing your flowers, be sure to choose a variety of colors and textures to bring interest to your floral centerpiece. I chose several types of flowers and greenery that will help bring interest, depth, and provide a landscape for building the perfect spring flower arrangement.
  3. Start with a clean vase or vessel.
  4. Cut your flower stems at an angle and place them in fresh water immediately.
  5. Remove any foliage that will be below the water level.
  6. Refresh the water daily. Fresh flowers will drink a lot. We have 20 gorgeous spring flower arrangements that will have your home ready for Spring in no time. How to Create a Spring Flower Arrangement

  1. Create a tape grid at the top of your vase, bowl, or compote dish. The tape grid will allow you to anchor your flowers so they’ll stay where you place them!
  2. I start with a base of greenery. Eucalyptus and ivy were used in this arrangement, and I placed different sized stems throughout the bottom layer of the arrangement.
  3. Next, start with a few larger flowers and build another layer, being sure to vary the colors. I added some hypericum berries and greenery throughout the middle, and saved a few large flowers for the top. Some of these gorgeous blooms remind me of my Spring Mantel Design from last year!

Tips for Flower Arranging

  1. When I’m making an arrangement for a party that is within two days, I try to choose roses that are a week old. Don’t worry if the guard petals are torn, dreary looking or brown. Once you remove them you can either spin your rose stem between your hands quickly to open it up or use your fingers to separate the petals. I’ve found that after an evening of hydration, the roses really open up nicely by the next day.
