HEY BOO!! Do you remember the cute playhouse we built as a surprise for our kids when we bought this new home, right? Since the construction, I have seriously had so much fun decorating the space to inspire the kids in their play. From tea parties to Nerf gun fights to reading stories, my kids love spending time in and around the playhouse and its companion play structure that we updated to coordinate. We now have the playhouse all dressed up for Halloween, and I am excited to share festive Halloween Playhouse Decor Ideas with you today!

Festive Halloween Playhouse Decor Ideas

With the Halloween decorations, we added some things that had been on my punch list for some time. We added real working sconces to the outside front,  Smart Lighting and a farmhouse style chandelier inside so the kids can use the playhouse even when it’s dusk outside. It’s also fun to bring in a “spooky” Halloween glow for the holiday.

The little porch is so fun to decorate and I did not hold back. There are a couple of adorable garlands from Glitter Party Co. draped over the door. One has cute little bats and the other adds pops of color in orange, purple, green, white and black making it tie in perfectly with the battery-operated jack o’ lanterns and black cat. A giant spider has moved in next door and my kids are going to have to watch out for that huge web she has spun.

Welcoming little goblins to the playhouse is a whimsical Trick or Treat sign that coordinates perfectly with the colorful garland and a witch’s hat-wearing skeleton rocks on a rocking chair just waiting to offer a treat, or maybe a trick!

All of these fun Halloween decorations seem to have attracted a family of ghosts (don’t worry, they’re friendly) that like to hang out in the trees and around the porch. The kids are LOVING coming home from school to play in their own mini Halloween land. They dress up in costumes from our trunk of past family costumes, playing trick or treat and trying to scare each other by popping up from unexpected places. I love hearing the calls of “BOO” and peals of laughter coming from the yard.

As it draws closer to All Hallow’s Eve I can see hosting a small Halloween gathering for them and some of their friends out there. What a perfect centerpiece to Halloween inspired games, a costume contest and yummy treats like the Halloween Charcuterie Board I recently shared.  I can’t wait!
