pink and cream girls room nurseryThis pink and cream girls nursery design turned out perfect for our girls’ room and has to be my favorite room in the house. A lot of the furniture, dolls, and decor I had as a child, so this room is true vintage style and I may just have to move in with them. We have used the same round crib for each of my five babies. It’s so special to me. I always wanted a round crib and I remember being so surprised when we got it that it was actually half the cost of a traditional rectangle crib. It was mahogany for my boys and we painted it cream for my girls. A gold chandelier with pink pearls hangs at the center of the cathedral ceilings. The chandelier was something else…it wasn’t the right color gold so we pain-stakenly took every pearl off of it, painted it the correct color and then had to reassemble all the pearls. It may hang in their room for all eternity.

I had the crib bedding made to go around the bed. I love how elegant it looks! The bentwood rocker was my late grandmothers. I have such fond memories of her rocking me in it. We had it painted cream, and the cane backing painted gold to match the colors of the room. Two of the dolls displayed on the shelves were mine as a child, and the two Madame Alexander dolls were gifts.

The stuffed bear and rabbit were mine and my sister’s when we were little. The tea set is porcelain and made by Andrea. We get this one out for actual tea parties and reserve the plastic set she has for every day pretending. The doll cradle was mine as a child and we painted it cream to match her room. We added the lighting and my very patient husband painted this part of the room pink with the addition of the cream detail to frame the space.

Little touches like my mom’s antique jewelry box, and my rocking horse that still plays music make this room extra special. After searching for literally months and month for a bedspread that would have ruffled sides, I finally found a set on Amazon of all places! I was just about to pull the trigger on someone making this exact set and I found one. Saved me a lot of time and money! We added her name to the roll pillow…there’s just something about personalized linens to finish off a room!

And this might just be my favorite detail of their room. I had a drawer full of brooches from my great-grandmother, both grandmothers, and my mom and aunt. I saw these frames at Hobby Lobby and knew they would be perfect to display these lovely brooches in her room. My daughter asks to get them down from time to time so she can wear them, and of course, I oblige.

Thanks for reading along! Take a look at our sweet little girl’s baby dedication here!
