Oh Baby! A popular trend that has continued to evolve is the Gender Reveal Party. Before I created this blog, I had several gender reveal parties myself. From balloons flying out of a box, to cutting a cake that had been died pink, it’s always fun to celebrate with your family and friends. There are so many fun and creative versions, but all have a few things in common, great food and festive decor. With so many friends pregnant, I thought it was time to share unique gender reveal party ideas.
A special thank you to my partners Community Bakery and Just Peachy for helping pull these gorgeous and unique gender reveal party ideas!
UNIQUE GENDER REVEAL PARTY IDEAS
As you know, we love to entertain. From pulling together a color palette to planning a party menu, I love pulling together all the little details. I think the little details make a celebration special. We recently hosted a sweet Gender Reveal Party and I decided to stick with a more traditional baby color pallet of baby blue and pink but added a little punch with gold accents.
UNIQUE GENDER REVEAL PARTY IDEAS: DECORATIONS
The main centerpiece of our decorations was this amazing balloon swag. I’m sure you’ve seen the balloon craze all over Pinterest and social media. I love adding balloons to a party and there are now so many creative options that balloons can fit right into your wedding or other formal events.
This balloon garland is by Christen at Just Peachy in Little Rock, Arkansas. She created this masterpiece with multiple sized balloons in baby blue, baby pink, and shiny gold. I love the free form, whimsical nature of the arch and how it showcases the sweets table. I was mesmerized watching her create this balloon garland, she put it together rather quickly, which was a surprise to me. She can do any color and has a lot of options for themes, be sure to check out her website to see her work!
The other decor we used we found at Party City and Target. We found cute little confetti popper that doubled as decor and a fun activity at the event. We found a gold glitter cake topper that said “Oh Baby”. For the backdrop, I threw up white butcher paper and with my Cameo Silhouette machine I cut out the “Oh Baby” letters that we hung on the backdrop.
UNIQUE GENDER REVEAL PARTY IDEAS: MENU
The menu was so fun to plan! I wanted a whimsical feel to the food items and I found just what I was looking for at Community Bakery. We kept it simple, but the festive treats made the table look anything but simple! They made the cutest little baby feet cookies in both pink and blue, and carried the baby feet theme over to the cake balls as well. They also created solid colored pink and blue cake balls with sugar crystals on top. I absolutely love how these items turned out!
For the cake, we decided on an abstract look for the icing that combined pink, blue and white in almost a watercolor effect. It was so elegant and tasty, and just perfect for a Gender Reveal Party! Community Bakery is my go-to bakery because they can literally do anything. From the Easter Party Ideas I shared earlier this year, to the Grazing Table Checklist I shared this summer, they have helped me do it all, and they carry everything from sandwiches, to coffee, to desserts, to breakfast, and more!
I always like to offer a little candy as well, and I love the look of candy placed in apothecary jars. The candy becomes decoration as well, and it’s an easy way for guests to serve themselves!
I hope these Gender Reveal Party Ideas show you how just a little bit of time and planning can deliver a festive celebration. All of these ideas are easy to implement and I hope you are inspired to plan a fun event for someone special very soon!
