I’m sharing sunroom decorating ideas that are so handy for decorating or freshening up your sunroom or patio. In the past we shared our dining room reveal, and today I’m excited to share our finished sunroom! My husband, Brian, and I have spent a lot of time working on this space from painting the brick, to installing a new fan, to building a porch swing bed. I can’t wait to share these sunroom decor ideas with you, from furniture options to decor.
A special thank you to Safavieh for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Sunroom Decorating Ideas to Love
When I open the door to the newly updated sunroom, it instantly brings a sense of respite. I love to feel the warm sunlight as it shines into the room along with the cool breeze. We purposely outfitted this space with comfortable lounging options and lots of greenery to provide a welcoming place to relax, read a book, or take a nap! This added space is also perfect for outdoor entertaining away from bugs and I can’t wait to host family and friends.
The sunroom transformation started when we painted the brick last Fall (you have to see the before photos!). It was previously a dark tan color that was refreshed by painting it a clean white. Like the rest of my interiors, we used Sherwin-Williams Dover White for the walls, and Pure White for the porch swing bed that my husband built.
Sunroom Furniture Ideas
When planning for the sunroom furniture, I wanted to create a cozy but stylish space. Our sunroom is enclosed but has large screened windows so I was looking for casual outdoor living furniture that could stand up to the elements. I found some beautiful items from Safavieh. They have a great selection of indoor/outdoor rugs like this Lakeside Rug that I chose. It brings warmth to the room and adds a cozy touch that feels like an extension of the home. The texture is great and I love that care is so easy, as it can be vacuumed or hosed off!
Tables & Chairs
The large rattan Ruxton Coffee Table begs you to put your feet up and relax for a bit. It is the perfect size for setting out your morning coffee, or entertaining guests with refreshing drinks. It will also hold a family style amount of food for easy entertaining that is in everyone’s reach, and it has become the centerpiece of our family game nights.
The crisp white wicker Maika Dining Chairs have a traditional style, they are perfect for gathering and relaxing, but can also double as outdoor dining chairs in the future. Between the chairs, I placed a Blue Bird Garden Stool. I love using garden stools in decorating because they are easy to move and functional as a resting place for a drink or as additional seating when needed. They are sturdy, heavy, and the perfect pop of color between the white chairs.
Container Garden
When planning the sunroom design, I wanted to have a space to create a container garden and I found that the Coastal Bamboo Console Table was perfect. I placed a pair of brown rattan chairs on each side of the table. These chairs were a gift from family, but I found some a very similar option from Safavieh. I love how they bring warmth and contrast to the space and balance the room.
If you’ve seen my living room remodel, you know I have several gorgeous furniture pieces from Safavieh. I love that they are a family company which has dedicated its talents and resources to providing uncompromising quality. They offer a wide array of options which fit any budget! I am a big fan of how they incorporate transitional designs with contemporary styles, resulting in high quality and beautiful furniture and decor!

The other update that was needed, especially after painting the ceiling white, was installing the Cedar Key 52 inch Fan from Hunter Fans. This high-velocity outdoor fan has a farmhouse coastal feel to it with a three speed motor. Their SureSpeed Guarantee for delivering airflow optimized for ultimate high-speed cooling. I love that it is operable with a remote, so I don’t have to leave my seat to keep us comfortable even on the warmest days.
Porch Swing Bed
This custom-made porch swing was built by my wonderful husband, Brian! It is perfect for lazy days and enjoying the weather, and has become my favorite spot for my morning devotional and coffee. We love the custom cushion by Patio Lane. The Sunbrella Daybed Custom Cushion is made out of outdoor fabric that will hold up to weather and UV rays. They offer this cushion cover in an array of colors which was perfect for our swing.
Behind the porch swing, I placed this beautiful Wreath by Accidental Farmgirl Co.. She created this wreath just for our sunroom, and it’s perfect! It’s currently sold in her shop where has a huge selection of our wreaths and arrangements. It is so charming and makes this sunroom feel complete.

Sunroom Container Garden
I created a container garden in hopes of becoming the plant lady I’ve always wanted to be! We used an array of Smaller Planters and Larger Planters to outfit the room as well as the console table. We filled the large planters with cane trees, yellow climbing roses, and an alocasia plant. On the console table you’ll find snap dragons, geraniums, snow in summer, and more! Plants are shown to have many health benefits including boosting the immune system and mental health. In addition, they can help reduce carbon dioxide levels and pollutants in the air. You also can’t miss the lovely aroma they add to the room.

Hi! I love everything about this! That swinging day bed is dreamy! Do you happen to know the height of the front of the arm rests from the floor on the white Safavieh caned chairs? Wondering if I can push under my dining room table if I used as dining chairs, or if they are too tall.
I’ll check and get back to you!
Your patio is an oasis and love everything about it. Especially Love your daybed swing with the beautiful pillows. Where did you get the floral blue pillows and the light blue pillow?
