Christmas Table Setting Ideas

My Christmas Table Setting Ideas last year is one of my more popular posts so I wanted to change things up this year. I was also craving something different, something a little brighter. I added red to my color scheme and I love how bringing in a new color changed my entire look.

My gold and white Christmas tree china was a gift  from my in in-laws and family over the years. I love pulling these out when hosting holiday-themed events. In addition, they are beautiful for the big Christmas brunch I host each year.

Add a Christmas Tree to your Dining Room

In most traditional home settings, the dining room is located at the front of the house near the front entrance. I added a full size tree to our dining room three years ago. I gives me a chance to tie in all my decor and I love having a tree by our front window.

Christmas Table Centerpiece

For my Christmas table centerpiece, I created a floral arrangement of cedar, pine, white hydrangeas, and red roses. It adds a fresh aroma and I love the white and red combination. I used a white faux fur runner and white Christmas trees with varying heights to provide layers, depth and texture.

Decorate your Chandelier

I have been adding fresh cedar garland to my chandelier for years. The scent is so wonderful and I love the elegance of cedar garland. This year I added a sprays of faux pearls to tie in my white color scheme. I initially was going to add red ribbon to each light, but decided I like the minimalistic look.

Add Wreaths to your Chairs

If you’ve been a reader for some time, you might remember I updated my dining room decor not too long ago. I knew when I ordered these upholstered chairs that I would have to add mini wreaths to the back of the chairs! Don’t you think they look cute and festive?

Decorate your Hutch or Buffet Table

I used a grouping of white fur trees and champagne glitter trees as a backdrop. My champagne colored reindeer provide height and a whimsical touch. If you have a larger space, candles would be the perfect added touch.

Add Personalized Napkins to your Christmas Table Setting

You all know my love for monogramed napkins, pillows, and all the things! These personalized Christmas napkins by AP Monograms are my absolute favorite! I love that they are festive but kind of neutral to tie into virtually any Christmas decor.

Utilize Stemware or Tableware to bring in Color

I have had these red goblets since we first got married. I love pulling them out for festive occasions and this red and white Christmas color scheme is the perfection occasion! You can see here where I used them in our previous home.

Add Layers to your Christmas Table Setting

I love adding layers of tableware whether its the chargers and placemats, or the silverware and stemware. As you can see I’ve used a round placemat, round glass charger plate, a dinner plate and an accent plate. These pieces add texture to my table and each piece is functional as well.

I hope these ideas have give you a start in planning beautiful Christmas table settings. Even though our celebrations might look different, setting the table and planning a wonderful menu can bring so much joy to your holidays.
