Magical Disney Party Ideas

If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know we are huge Disney World fans. I fondly remember getting to visit Disney World twice as a child, and when we took our own little family three years ago, it was truly magical. There’s nothing like seeing your child’s eyes sparkle and hearing their laugh while they meet their favorite characters, ride all the rides, and participate in all the fun and activities. I have a very popular series on our Disney World trip, and I’m excited today to share Disney Party Ideas! From Disney Princess to Mickey Mouse, you can use these magical ideas for a birthday party, a Disney trip reveal party or a fun playdate with friends.
A special thank you to Walt Disney World Resort for sponsoring this post, as always, all opinions are my own.
The video above shows just how much fun we had and how special our party was! Being a mother to five kids under the age of 10, you can bet that Disney EVERYTHING is a big deal around our home. From Frozen to Toy Story, our kids love Disney movies, Disney toys and even Disney costumes (check out our Disney Family Halloween Costumes). When I was chosen to host a #NowMoreThanEver Disney Playdate Party this summer, I was THRILLED and couldn’t wait to share the news with my kids.
Disney’s #NowMoreThanEver campaign is a fun way to share all the new and exciting things happening at Disney Parks this year from the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening at California’s Disneyland to Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration happening from now through September 30th. Disney Parks are always fun and exciting but #nowmorethanever we are on the cusp of really exciting changes and celebrations.
We anxiously awaited the arrival of our box to see what our theme was and the kids had a blast unpacking our party box to discover we were sent a variety of Mickey Mouse table decorations and themed items making it a perfect theme for a playdate! Since I have three boys and two girls, we decided to plan a Mickey Mouse themed playdate as well as a Disney Princess Tea Party. The girls wore their Disney princess dresses and the boys wore their Mickey Mouse Ears! My middle son and his friend were dressed in red polos and khaki shorts and I think they look just like mini mouse-kateers!
I will go into more detail into both of these themes in subsequent posts (see Mickey Mouse Table Decorations and Disney Princess Playdate), so be sure to come back tomorrow to see more about our Disney Party supplies, Disney Party games and Disney party favors for each of these themes! I’ve shared a Mickey Mouse Birthday Party and a Star Wars Party Ideas post in the past and you all loved both of them, so I’m excited to bring you more ideas today and I hope this inspires you to not only create your own Disney party theme but also to take your family to Walt Disney World!
Let’s start with the party food, we served a popcorn cake provided by Popped Passion. We ordered a simple cake (from Krogers!) to resemble Mickey’s shorts with red icing and yellow buttons. and I ordered chocolate cupcakes and added the little chocolate melts to resemble mickey ears. I served red and yellow chocolate sixlets in apothecary jars and pulled out my fun mickey shaped bowls to serve strawberries and homemade Rice Krispie mickey pops (stay tuned for my tutorial!). I also make mickey shaped oreo treats and blueberry muffins (which were a huge hit!).
For games and activities, we had a fun Disney-theme playlist playing for everyone to dance and have fun, and we played pin the nose on the mickey! The kids had so much fun being blindfolded with a mickey mouse mask and seeing who could get the nose right on the spot. We also had a Mickey-themed pinata and the competition for getting the candy was fierce. Did you see that funny part in the above video? You could say my kids are just a tad competitive.

My six-year-old has been asking for a Disney Princess Tea Party with her friends and I’m so glad I could finally pull it together. We had a Disney-themed sweet shop including homemade treats like Disney princess popcorn and Disney princess magical wafers (tutorial coming soon!). We served heart-shaped Cucumber Sandwiches (the Fancy Nancy recipe) along with Disney Princess petit fours, cupcakes, and lollypops! These items were so easy to make and pull together and I’ll be sharing more details about the decor, party favors and more tomorrow on the blog!

Look at my baby girl in her Belle dress with her new Belle doll provided by Jakks Pacific. The girls were all dressed in different Disney Princess dresses, we had Belle, Elsa, Anna, Aurora, Elena, Moana, and Cinderella as special guests! The girls loved their tea party and had so much fun! Be sure to come back tomorrow for more details on both of these party themes (see Mickey Mouse Table Decorations and Disney Princess Playdate)! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
