Disney World Magic

Disney World is one of the most magical places on earth, am I right? If you are planning a trip to Disney, you really don’t have to plan any “extra magic” as I like to call it, because you will have your fill of magic when you get there. However, if you love planning special little details like I do, I’m sharing the fun things that I did to create some Disney World magic on our trip.

GIFT BASKETS

On the morning of our Disney World Trip Reveal, we had baskets of all things Disney for the trip. I scoured our local Dollar General, the Target dollar spot, and Walmart for months looking for inexpensive Disney related goodies for these baskets. This served two purposes, one it totally upped my game for the reveal. It’s kind of like an Easter basket, but for all things Disney. They were amazed, and I will always remember the smiles on their faces as they sifted through their baskets. The other purpose this served as to provide fun activities for the flight and the trip…and it really worked out the way I had hoped. They were completely occupied on the flights because of all of this Disney goodness!

Here’s a quick list of some of the things we included:

• Mickey Ears (can you go to Disney without ears? No, you can’t!)

• Mickey and Minnie water bottle (these were PERFECT for the trip, you can take them in empty and refill at the park)

MESSAGES FROM MICKEY

With black, red, and gold glitter cardstock purchased at my local craft store, I made a cut out of a Mickey icon shape and created a little pocket to place daily notes called “Messages from Mickey”. These notes included a formal invitation to whatever Character dinner or a special event we were going to that day. It was another little surprise from the kids and they actually thought Mickey was magically leaving those notes for them every morning. They would wake up and run to the Mickey to see what notes were there for the day. This was truly a bit of Disney World magic, and it was so much fun to see their excitement!

You can see below there’s an invite to The Pirate’s League, an invite from Aurora to the Perfectly Princess Tea, and an invite from Mickey and Minnie to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I had these invitations made prior to, so it took a little preparation beforehand, but once they were printed and placed in a folder I brought on the trip, it was very easy to pull them out each night after the kids were in bed and put them in the Mickey.

AUTOGRAPH BOOKS

I went back and forth, and back and forth, on what I should do for autograph books. There are several ways to handle these books, or you can skip the book altogether and opt for taking a white pillowcase for characters to sign or wear a shirt they can sign. Some people like to leave space on their books to place photos to serve as a memory book, and others like to take notecards and have those signed in placed in a book at a later date. I opted for blank autograph pages that we could carry each day in the stroller. I really loved having these, and my kids still look through them all the time two years later.

I had the cover and backing created by a graphic designer (email me if you would like details) and personalized for each kid. It was so fun to try to hunt down their signatures, and I love that they have this book as a permanent memento of the trip.

PRESSED PENNY CONTAINERS

This was another fun activities on the trip. There are pressed penny machines all over each park. Most major rides have a machine, and there are fun themed penny’s you can find. These Pressed Penny Containers turned out super cute and held their pennies through the trip. They really loved collecting them on the trip, but it’s not something they’ve been super interested in afterward.

Another fun thing you can do is have luggage tags made. We got each of our big boys a red small rolling suitcase to use a carryon’s so we had a Mickey shaped luggage tag made. We also made a fun vacation themed Mickey door sign that we put on the door when we arrived. It was another small, but fun detail the kids loved.

The last piece of Disney World Magic we created was this note and shirt that we had made for the grandparents who were joining us about halfway through our trip. If you have parents or other helpers coming, this is a fun way to get them excited about the trip!
