We’ve gathered our favorite holiday cocktail recipes and some non-alcoholic options too, that will have you ready to enjoy a cozy evening at home or a festive occasion to gather.
I love champagne. I love the sweetness, the delightful taste of the bubbles, and the elegance of the glass. Champagne symbolizes a celebration, and life is always worth celebrating!
We visited a champagne vineyard in Napa Valley years ago and learned about the process of making champagne. It is a long, tedious process that can takes years in order to produce a bottle of quality champagne (check out our Napa Valley Weekend Itinerary).
What is a Mimosa?
A mimosa cocktail is a combination of champagne and juice, typically orange juice. But thankfully with all the wonderful flavors and garnishes available, we can create a variety of mimosa recipes like my Cranberry Orange Mimosa.
What goes in a Mimosa?
A mimosa can be any range of flavors as long as your base is champagne and citrus juice. Oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes, and tangerines are all considered citrus fruits and can be great additions to your holiday cocktail recipe.
What should I drink on Christmas?
We love to create a mimosa for our Christmas Brunch menu. Eggnog is always a traditional option and something that can be a great gift to share with others as well.
If you are hosting family, a Champagne punch is a great option that can be made in large batches. Apple Cider and Homemade Hot Chocolate are also great options to drink on Christmas day.
This Cranberry Orange Mimosa is the perfect combination of citrus and sweetness, and it looks so festive! The sweetened cranberry offers a great twist to the traditional orange juice and champagne combination.
What is the difference between a Mimosa and a Bellini?
Both cocktails are made with champagne (or sparkling wine), a mimosa is made with juice and a Bellini is traditionally made with peach puree or peach schnapps.
What ingredients do I need to make a Cranberry Orange Mimosa?
To create this gorgeous champagne cocktail, simply combine fresh cranberries, cranberry simple syrup, orange juice, triple sec and champagne in a sleek champagne flute.
What do I use to garnish a Cranberry Orange Mimosa?
Sugared cranberries and a sugared rosemary sprig are delightful garnishes for this champagne cocktail.

After making the cranberry simple syrup, I used the left over cranberries to create sugared cranberries and it’s so easy to do!
Simply make a simple syrup of sugar and water on your stovetop, toss the cranberries in and coat and place on a rack to “drain”, allow to set for about an hour and then roll in batches in loose sugar to apply that “sparkle”.
Allow to fully set and use the beautiful berries to garnish your festive drinks, desserts or for snacking. Follow the same procedure to sugar rosemary sprigs as well.
