Do kids like yogurt parfaits?

My kids love this easy yogurt parfait as a breakfast option because they feel like they are getting “dessert” for breakfast. Plus, since they love helping in the kitchen, this is a great meal they can help prepare with me. These parfaits are simple to put together.

Are yogurt parfaits healthy?

Yogurt parfaits can be great fuel for busy kids and adults. They are filled with nutrients, such as protein, fiber, and healthy fats.

With just a handful of ingredients, you can make a healthy, protein-packed breakfast. Greek Yogurt (we like plain, vanilla or strawberry), a variety of fresh berries (cut into bite-sized pieces if necessary) and your favorite granola are all you need!

Here we layered Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries, blackberries and blueberries, and granola. You can use a variety of fun bowls or glasses to mix it up, or set up a fun parfait bar and let your kids build their own. My kids love any meal that is hands-on and allows them to pick and choose their toppings.

This would also make for a great menu item for a party or a shower you are hosting. You could set up a bar with all the options and let guests build their own. I also like to serve these in small parfait glasses for bite-sized, healthy treats at events… perfect for a brunch party or shower!

Why use Greek Yogurt?

While you could use regular yogurt for these, I prefer using Greek yogurt because it is chock full of protein, calcium, probiotics and other vitamins and minerals that your body needs for maximal functioning throughout a busy day!

Adding Greek yogurt to your breakfast is a great way to get your body back on track by packing a punch of these vitamins and minerals. This is key for battling food cravings, providing important energy to busy kids and revving up the brain for work, school and other activities.

For this recipe, I added two teaspoons of organic vanilla to give a little vanilla flavoring to the Greek Yogurt. You can also purchase the flavored Greek yogurt if you like, just check the label to ensure unnecessary sweeteners haven’t been added.

The berries and cinnamon granola add just the amount of sweetness you need. For those who aren’t a fan of plain Greek yogurt, I encourage you to try this recipe, I think you’ll love it!
